Who's who on the Neonatal Unit Matron Rachel Wright Unit Manager Vacant Feeding Coordinators/Breastfeeding Support All staff on the unit are trained to support families with breast and all other types of feeding. Specialist feeding advisors are available via unit referral Bereavement Support Provided by a bereavement officer via unit referral Counselling Service/Psychological Support Available through the chaplaincy. Additional support can be accessed via own GP Play Specialists Available on request from the Paediatric ward What to expect on arrival Access to the unit Entry is via a locked door, please ring bell to gain access Who to ask for on arrival The nurse in charge Who will give initial update on baby's condition The nurse caring for your baby can give updates at any time Medical staff are available during the ward rounds and upon request Ward Round times Every morning starting at 9.30am Quiet time Daily between 12.30pm and 2.00pm Accommodation for parents 2 double on-suite bedrooms are available on the unit Accommodation for siblings Not available Meal Provision Food and drink provided to all parents resident on the unit Self Catering Facilities Microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery available. Cereals, bread, tea, coffee, milk, sugar and some tinned food are also provided free of charge Mobile Phones It is important that mobile phones are switched to silent and that telephone calls are made away from the cot side, in the public areas of the hospital as this helps to reduce noise levels which babies can find stressful. Mobile phones can be used to take photographs of your baby Breast Feeding Facilities/Equipment There is a breastfeeding room on the unit Mobile breast pumps are available for use at the cot side Sitting Area There is a sitting room on the unit Play Area/facilities There are toys available in the parent sitting room. Children should be supervised at all times Parent Support Group The unit has its own Facebook support group, you can join here or search Facebook for LITTLE SNAPPS. Please note this group is only open to parents and families of preterm/term babies who are or have been on the neonatal unit or in transitional care Nearest B&B/Hotels for other family members Premier Inn, Wainfleet Road, Boston, PE21 9RW approximately a 5 minute walk from the hospital

Visiting Hours Open access for siblings Other visitors between 2:00pm and 7:30pm Numbers allowed per cot 2 plus parents/carers Restrictions All visitors must be accompanied by a parent No children (siblings excluded)

Access to a Midwife A midwife service is available for postnatal ladies from the ward and those who have been discharged home If you need to access this service, please speak to the nurse in charge on the unit Catering and Shops (on site) - Restaurant on ground floor - Small coffee shop at hospital main reception - WRVS in outpatients department - WH Smith at hospital main entrance - Hairdressers at hospital main entrance Cashpoint Inside WH Smiths at hospital main entrance.
