What We Do

Who we are

We are a group of parents who have experienced neonatal care in one (or more) of the eleven neonatal units across the East Midlands Network.

We are always keen to have new members and aim to hear experiences from each of the eleven neonatal units.

The group is chaired by parents but all administration is covered by the network.

The group also comprises of the following:

  • Neonatal voices groups from the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS).

  • Parent champions/ family integrated care link nurses from each neonatal unit.

  • Ward managers/matrons from each neonatal unit.

  • Director/lead nurse from the network

  • Lead nurse for family integrated care for the network

  • Network Care Coordinator

What we do

The groups meet four times a year to ensure that the neonatal units receive input from the parent perspective.

Our aim is to represent parents and to support the work of neonatal care services across the East Midlands.

We can do this by:

  • Providing personal feedback & sharing our experiences or perspectives.

  • Reviewing documents, guidelines and posters from a parent’s perspective.

  • Reviewing the creation of Network strategies, projects, and initiatives in the context of local needs and views of families using the service.

  • Representing the parents' voice at network meetings.

Terms and Conditions

Being a member of the PAG is voluntary and you are under no obligation to remain part of the group or attend meetings. You can be involved as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

The EMNODN will reimburse parent members of the PAG for reasonable expenses incurred during the course of their activities as a member of the group. This will include travel and parking costs, and sustenance and hotel charges if an overnight stay is required.
